Never go to bed with any makeup on. Your skin needs time to repair itself from the rigors of the day. Take a few minutes before going to bed and remove all your makeup.

Exfoliating goes deeper than soap and water. Using an exfoliating glove or engaging in an apricot scrub are great ways to exfoliate. To avoid skin damage and irritation don’t perform exfoliating more than a couple of times a week.

Make sure your diet is antioxidant rich to deal with free radicals. Free radicals are caused by many factors such as stress, cigarette smoke, and UV rays. To reduce damage Consume fruits, green tea and dark chocolate regularly.

Remember to protect your lips as well. The winter air is normally very dry. Be sure to apply a moisturizing lip balm to your lips to prevent painful chapped or cracked lips.

When you choose a product to treat redness, be sure to read the ingredients. Keep in mind that less ingredients are better when it comes to skin care products. If your skin is sensitive, more ingredients increase the chance of a bad reaction. The product might actually increase your redness. It may even cause you to break out.

Excess sun exposure can lead to accelerated aging and skin cancer. That’s why you should incorporate sunscreen into your daily routine.  Just using plain sunscreen, or even makeup with it in it, is recommended.

Before heading outdoors apply the proper sun protection regardless of whether it is sunny out or not.  Put on sunscreen a half hour before going out. When applying sunscreen, use a makeup sponge. This way you don’t have to touch the sunscreen, and you can apply it more evenly. A sponge applicator will help sunscreen to get deeper into the skin where it is absorbed best. Choose the best SPF that you can find for the area in which you live. You don’t want a painful sunburn and your skin age prematurely.

Many body washes dry out skin much more than the elements. Use body washes with moisturizing agents and vitamins included. Moisturizers will ensure your skin maintains enough moisture, and vitamins will help to regenerate it.

For oily skin, it is best to use products specifically designed for your skin condition. Two useful products that remove oil from your face are astringents and toners. A moisturizer that is specifically made for oily skin helps your skin stay oil free.

The perfect time to moisturize your skin is straight after a bath or shower is completed, and the skin is still damp. Steam will open up your pores, which allows better absorption of your moisturizer. Damage from the weather or pollution can be fought by using a daily moisturizer.

Winter and summer are rough on skin due to indoor heating and cooling. One helpful thing you can do to help prevent skin from drying out during these times is to keep bathing to a minimum. If you are having skin problems, shower every other day so your skin can keep its healthy glow.
