Oily skin is characterized also by open pores and many a times pimples and acne because of the excess oil in your face. Oil based moisturizers work best for oily skin and you can choose from the many available in the market. How to Choose Moisturizer if you have Dry Skin
If you have dry skin, you obviously will moisturize your skin because your own face will demand it of you. However, that does not mean you pick up any moisturizer that you can get hold of. How to choose moisturizer for dry skin also depends on the extent of your dryness. IF you have moderately dry skin, a light oil based moisturizer is enough during summers while during winters you have to shift to a heavier and more viscous cream. However, if your skin is excessively dry, you might have to apply the thick creams and moisturizers even during summer. During winter, you might need to put glycerin along with your moisturizer at night to give you more moisturizing. Besides, re-application at regular intervals throughout the day might be necessary to combat the dryness of the skin.
How to Choose Moisturizer for Normal or Mixed Skin Types
Not everyone has his/her skin type falling categorically into either one of these. Some have mixed skin types while some people with normal skin. How to choose moisturizer for such skin types might be a little problematic. For people having T- Zone oily, meaning the forehead and the nose, you have to apply moisturizers which are for normal to oily skin. While for people having normal skin, you do get moisturizers which are medium oil based and perfect for normal skins. Your knowledge of how to choose moisturizer is a trial and error procedure until you hit the right one.
